Perceptions

In March of 2022, I was contacted by Swansea University asking me if I'd be willing to participate in a project called Perceptions. 

My official role in this project was to sit in on a lecture led by Afghan migrant Sweeta Durrani and illustrate her words as she spoke. 

I did this for two days, sketching and compiling notes as she shared her inspiring and moving story.

I took everything I heard away with me, and created a few final illustrations that I felt showed the different details of what she spoke about. 

The feeling of being split between two lives; her life in Afghanistan with her family, memories and work, and her life in Wales - safe, but isolated.
